The Practice

Sleep Sweet provides compassionate quality of life consultations, euthanasia, and after care for cats and dogs with debilitating ailments and terminal conditions. This can be done in the comfort of your home or even a quiet, peaceful, outdoor setting such as your pet’s favorite park or under their favorite tree (weather permitting). We encourage families to stay with their loved ones during the entire process to help make the transition as comforting as possible.

If you’re not sure it’s time to say goodbye just yet, we can schedule a quality of life consultation where Dr. Hagen will gently examine your pet and discuss any questions or concerns you may have in order to help you make the right decision for you and your family.

We currently serve Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, Tompkins, Broome, Yates, and Tioga counties in New York. The maximum distance is 75 miles from Elmira. Appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday 9AM - 5PM.

Meet Dr. Regis Hagen

Dr. Hagen grew up with a menagerie of cats, dogs, horses, donkeys, birds, hamsters, and even rats. She has always had a passion for helping animals and knew from a very young age she wanted to become a veterinarian.

In 2007, Dr. Hagen attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean. She completed her clinical rotations and final year of vet school at Cornell University and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2010.

Dr. Hagen has since practiced in several very busy, fast paced local small animal clinics over the last ten years but has found she longed for a slower pace. She has always had many requests for in home euthanasia but was often unable to accommodate many of these requests due to her busy clinic schedule. When she was able to make home visits, she noticed a profound difference. Animals were no longer anxious or frightened when surrounded by their family at home and were much more at peace as compared to being in a hospital setting. She founded Sleep Sweet to help families say goodbye to their beloved pets peacefully and respectfully and to make a difficult time just a little bit easier for the entire family.
